Hi all

We are booked on the evening flight 8.20pm to Boston in upper, Please can anyone tell me the earliest we will be allowed into the clubhouse so I know what time to leave home and get the most benefit. We will have no bags to check in as we will be using the airportr service the day before. Thanks

As above, anytime you like, however, 3-4 hours would always my maximum as even at the LHR Clubhouse, boredom starts setting in for me any longer than that.

+1.

Do remember it is just an airport lounge. A very nice airport lounge and arguably the best, but there are many better ways to spend an afternoon / early evening. Our max time would be 2 hours but do about an hour on average.

depends also on what you do in there...

for an evening flight i like to get a shower on arrival (or book one it there's a wait)

if mrs s is with me she'll often book a spa treatment

have a glass of bubbly or two and something from the deli counter

have the shower if i had to wait

once mrs s is back from the spa, order a meal and a few more bubblies until it's time to head to the gate

it's easy to while away a few hours

We had a 10pm flight to Hong Kong last month and we checked into the clubhouse at around 3:30. We enjoyed every minute of it and made the most of the facilities.

Why be stuck at home when you can sit in a beautiful private members club eating afternoon tea, having drinks, have some snacks, eat dinner, have a manicure or pedicure, what the planes and just basically relax before your flight.

It was pure VIP luxury, treat yourself and go as early as you can. There are worse places to be :D

Personally, the earlier the better to maximise the Clubhouse experience.

Allowing plenty of time to travel reduces the stress from roadworks, traffic jams, rush hour, accidents etc.

Arriving well ahead of the departure time cuts stress regarding parking, check-in and getting through security/'Duty Free'.

We are very happy to chill for a few hours (I think our max was 7 on a flight to NRT), read the papers, forage through the delicatessen, venture back out of the Clubhouse into the madness of T3, post a message to v-flyer, and have a shower just before boarding.

As JonBoy35 states, there are worse places to be.
