Hi Everyone,

Those forum members with Global Entry are probably aware but, just in case you are not, I thought it might be helpful just to mention that if/when you have a new/replacement driving licence you need to update the details (number and expiry date) on the ‘Trusted Traveller Programs’ section of the Homeland Security website.

Mrs SouthRoma just received her new driving licence and I was anticipating lots of problems revising her Global Entry information but, to my surprise, it was a very simple and straightforward exercise and took just a couple of minutes.

One thing that I did notice on the website, and which might be of interest to anyone who is anticipating (or has pending) a GE application, is an alert which is as follows:

The extended partial government shutdown has resulted in a substantial backlog of CBP's Trusted Traveler Programs (TTP) applications and renewals.
Applicants for Global Entry (GE), SENTRI, NEXUS and FAST should expect significant delays in application processing times and limited appointment availability at TTP enrollment centers.
Conditionally approved GE members should seek to complete their GE interviews without an appointment upon arrival from an international flight at any of the 49 airports participating in CBP's Enrollment on Arrival (EoA) program.

Hope this is helpful.

John

Myself and Mrs Murraymint applied 3.5 weeks ago for ours and I fully expect a wait of up to 100 days according to others I have read about. Although I saw some people in June had only waited a couple of weeks but I guess it’s the luck of the draw.

The alert has been there since Christmas and the US government shutdown but even before that the backlog was building.

I was lucky mine came through in 2 weeks in March last year and I could do the interview in London.

Thank you for the update, John. I agree regarding the ease of updating GE. My husband has a new passport and I was ready for a fiddly GE update but it was very easy. I have put a reminder in my diary to also update his Esta before we go later this year - I do not want to go through the blind panic of realising it was not valid when checking in through the app again....

Hi John, thanks for the post! I have my GE interview in a few weeks but was under the impression that I couldn’t make any changes to my Trusted Traveler Program membership before my interview - I have recently had a new driving license since my application was submitted. Would you know? Regards. S

Hi Suzy,
I am not sure but I think you may be able to make a change by going back to the website and logging in. If not, then I would suggest raising the matter when you are having the interview. Hope this helps. Do please let us know how you get on. Good luck.
Kind regards,
John

You can’t make any changes to your GE application once you have hit the ‘submit’ button.

They will be able to update it at the interview or if not then you can do it once you have been fully approved I.e yiur statis has changed to ‘approved’ nit just ‘conditionally approved’
