HKG isn’t on the published list of pre-select routes, but the list is now 5 months out of date so they may or may not have introduced it by now.

There will always be a veggie option on the main menu, however unless pre-select is available there is always the risk that they’ll run out before they get to you.

We are travelling UC LHR - LAX this month, I don't suppose anyone has a copy of the menu do they?

Thanks :)

I got my email to pre-order for LHR-EWR on Sunday and got the main course menu reported in this thread a few days ago (opted for the chicken ). I will post the full menu on Sunday. I think it’s the same as on your route?

I do think it’s time VS went back to basics again with their on-board food offerings, certainly in J.

Not been at all impressed with the food in J since VS switched to which ever ‘chef’ they use now for on-board food >-(

I do agree with your sentiments - I would rather have a quality more basic meal in Upper Class as opposed to some of the concoctions they are coming up with, all with names well above the quality of what is served. Also look at the portion sizes - I've never had an issue with the main course portion sizes, but some of the starters are a joke. If it's a prawn based starter, expect 3 prawns.

Also on the afternoon tea (even though it is no longer served as it used to be) sandwich offering - take a look at what sandwiches are readily available on the high street & learn. These are readily available because they are popular, so replicate some of the popular choices as opposed to [as above] something with a fancy name that will appeal to few.

Having said all the above - there is no way I want VS to wind the clock back about 13yrs to when they had that absolutely awful Mediterranean themed menu in Upper Class. It got a lot of negative comments on v-flyer!

Oh excellent, thank you! Look forward to reading it. I'm assuming we will get pre-order as well, was yours around 72 hours before? Hope you have a lovely time!

If anyone is interested, I thought I'd post the pre-order menu that has just come through for my flight on Saturday (LHR - LAX):

Smoked Duck Breast and Walnut Salad
watercress, apple, red grapes, orange dressing

Honey Roasted Chicken
pumpkin and ricotta gnocchi, spring greens and madeira sauce

Tomato and Mozzarella Tortellini
ratatouille, courgette, cherry tomato, baby spinach, italian cheese shavings

Yakitori Salmon
red rice, cucumber and carrot salad, ginger and lime dressing

I have gone for the tortellini, sad that there is no overdone beef on there! ;-)
