Collecting virgin miles on KLM

Is there any news on the likelihood of being able to collect Virgin miles on KLM. We are looking at doing a trip next year where KLM have good flights (not VS codeshares) and wondering whether with the new relationship with Air France/KLM we may be able to get miles credited?

There have been objections to the US Dept of Transport proposal to approve the joint venture so that involves a much longer process for approval compared to with if there had been no objections.

How much do objections postpone the process of approval usually?

Quite some time Im led to believe.

From reading the summary of the objections it's more than just "Don't like it" so no doubt the DoT will require detailed responses from DL/VS/AF/KL to the issues raised etc etc

One of the groups objecting are DLs own Pilots union.

So let me just chcek I understand the current situation. Am I right in thinking that this page is saying the only way you can earn Flying Club miles and TP on KLM is to book an itinerary that has VS flight numbers but operated by KLM? Itineraries that have KLM, DL or AF flight numbers are ineligible (even if the route itself is a VS codeshare route)?

Yes you must book under the VS codeshare number - I.e. VS marketed - and the VS number must be in your booking.
