Flying UC next month for a long weekend
to NYC with the new Mrs Farmer.
What are the beat options open to me for parking at LHR when travelling UC -
Any way to use DTC other than deposit Mrs F and then park elsewhere and meet her in the lounge ?
Of the other options open to cars, what’s the best?

I think it comes down to how much you value DTC.

Personally I love it and feel it enhances the UC experience as a whole as we don’t fly for work so every time we fly UC it’s a real treat. If your driving I would recommend finding a long stay car park and paying for a taxi from there to DTC.
Alternatively pay a premium for drop and go and check in downstairs and take the lift up to private security. Don’t know what the difference in price would be but guess it really comes down to what value you feel you get from the whole thing :D

I used DTCI recently. I dropped the family off and bags at the top,of the ramp where they checked in. Drove out and used the BAA valet parking, so just dropped the car right outside T3, walked into the terminal and up in the lift. I met everyone by the entrance to the private security channel. Only took couple of minutes and the T3 valet parking wasn’t that expensive compared to others. The added benefit was when we returned, we used arrivals and then just over the walkway to the valet collection area.

Or if you’re staying overnight nearby the night before, get rid,of your car and get a cab to DTCI.

I'd be interested to know on your return what you went for in the end , I am travelling upper in Dec and staying in Sofitel the night before, I've never used DTCI and wonder if It's worth me getting a taxi from hotel .( and also if this would be frowned upon by taxi driver?)
Enjoy your holiday!

On our last trip in May we stayed at the Premier Inn T4 and booked a car to take us to the DTCI the night before and cost £14. The drivers won't care a bit I would have thought they at spend half their days driving between terminals.

The morning we left the same company had an a4 sheet of names they were picking up, all probably going to either T3 or T5.

Thankyou , I think you have helped me make my mind up! Do I have to advise DTCI that I will be using that service?

Not anymore, just rock up and the driver will be asked by staff on the intercom to confirm you are flying upper class.
