Upgrading economy classic reward seats to delight

If i make a return reward booking in economy classic using miles and the credit card companion voucher for my wife and me and just miles for my son, am i then able to upgrade to delight by using further miles?

I don’t believe so, as EC-ED is not considered a cabin upgrade.

What about paying for delight with cash?

Don’t know but I’d say that’s more likely. Have you called and asked?

If there’s space in delight I can’t see them turning down cash that they would miss out on otherwise
