Just noticed that VA have sent Ladybird on VS844P to Orlando, with no return flight listed on MCO's departure board.

Do you think the might be pre-empting a Thomas Cook rescue flight, just in case TC go pop?

Has one of the scheduled aircraft gone tech and VAST is going to work the 28 or 76?

Or is it insider knowledge as you suggest ?

Looks like you are correct - just comparing arrivals and departures and VS844P is arriving at the same gate that VS76 is leaving from.

Looks like i have an overactive imagination :-)

According to BBC News aircraft are currently en route to repatriate Thomas Cook passengers if required, so it’s by no means out of the question.

It’s not looking good for Thomas Cook - I can’t believe the CAA would be doing this if there was a decent chance of a last-minute rescue deal.

It not the VS76 as that's currently boarding according to the VS website and the VS15 is on its way to MCO still (there's no VS27/28 rotation today) so my guess would as above as well unfortunately.

English Rose has just left MCO as the 76, you may be correct, or will AST cover the 16?

Sky News are reporting the rescue talks have failed and Thomas Cook is close to collapse.

I’d say the OP’s initial hunch is probably correct, sadly.

Figures as MT2605 would have been TCs MCO-MAN due off at 17.20 tonight.

Looks like they're following the same process as the Monarch repatriation flights 2 years ago by running them under the same numbers and same/similar timings, just with a different airline code.
