Can anyone give a rough approximation for distance between Check in and the lounge at Gatwick? Then we are flying to MCO, I appreciate the gate probably changes regularly but what would be the furthest distance we would have to walk? We have one in our party who has just had a knee replacement, it's healing well but I'm very conscious of them over doing it!

Thank you!

I would strongly suggest requesting special assistance through the airline. I used it when I had a broken leg. No standing in security queues, and I was collected from the Clubhouse and taken to the gate on a buggy (while the other half jogged alongside!).

They can always turn down the buggy at the time if they're feeling happy with the distance to the gate.

Definitely get assistance. It's a 5-10 min walk to the lounge once you're through security I guess. Then the gate could be another 10 minute walk or more..

Thank you all, i'm going to book it now, and start laying the ground work. She may be a *little* stubborn about not needing help, but I'm sure if it's there she'll be quite pleased!

I did gate 111 the other day from the Clubhouse and it is definitely a bit of a walk if you have a knee issue, I'm sure there are lifts available to get up and down from the walkway that goes over the ramp rather than using the escalators which are steep, but I'd definitely go for special assistance in advance just in case.
