Hi all
frequent reader but infrequent writer!!
We are currently booked on the LAS flight 4th Feb, and have decided to go upper class. As this will be our diamond anniversary trip I want to ensure that that seats I've currently selected (5g &6g) are, As far as I can see the best configuration that will allow us to,(as near as anything), sit close to each other. The Prime reason is that my wife is a very nervous flyer, and we are mainly used to sitting next to each other in Premium.
Any help or better suggestions would be most welcome

Many Thanks. regg0

I think it's generally viewed that the A row seats are best as you are not facing anyone (I'm assuming you are not on a 747). We always choose seats halfway along so 4/5 or 5/6. Just as an FYI you won't be as close to each other compared to premium due to the seat she'll.

Enjoy your trip I'm very jealous.

Just seen your edit, the seats you have are across the aisle so although although you will be facing each other you wont necessarily be 'close'.

Hi regg0

I would strongly recommend choosing seats behind each other (e.g. 5A, 6A). We recently flew UC and had 5G, 6K or whatever the seats are that look as though they are directly across from each other, which they are, but you are actually quite far away and can't touch or really talk to each other across the aisle in a quiet manner, so my recommendation would be one behind the other.

Thanks

My wife is also a very nervous flyer. So I understand your concern.

We always went 4A and 5A (or similar) on the A330-300 and A340-600. You can easily reach over to 'clutch claws' for takeoff and landing if (as in our case) that helps reduce anxiety. I assume its similar on any planes that have the classic herringbone layout.

On the new layout on the A330-200 that's not possible...so some benzodiazepines (see your friendly local GP) and bubbly serve as a surrogate 'claw'. Really though...see your GP. My wife is a GP herself and highly recommends. Why suffer unnecessarily when something so simple can help...
