Any idea when VA normally update their seat maps? I know predications or exact metal are all with a massive pinch of “can change...” salt.

phoned VA to Rebook an upper trip to NCY in Easter. Asked to be on the a350 where possible. Was put on 138 ny to lhr as she said that would remain an a350 route.

All flights are showing 330 currently

Any wisdom here ?

The 137/138 is currently a crew training/show off route for the A351s... whether it still will be by Easter next year is anyone's guess.

Considering the A351s are meant for longer flights, I would have thought they'd be switching them onto the west coast US (current crew rumours are LAX will get them next) or the eastern routes (HKG, PVG.. etc) in the new year.

When was the last time a B789 did a LHR-JFK, JFK-LHR run?

LAX is confirmed to go 351 in Jan.

The 351 is a high capacity replacement for the 346 so don’t expect them to go onto HKG or PVG anytime soon...the 787 is doing just fine there.

Loads on the LAX and SFO routes are always very high especially in Upper where 340/747 used to be the mainstay with 45 seats in the J cabin. VS have experimented with a 3rd LAX to try and maintain that J class capacity!

I would expect that 350 will stay on JFK as 340s have always been on that route

Hello ColOrd, do you think the A350 will be on both LAX flights from LHR? We are looking at booking for next summer. Obviously if you don't know no worries :-)

My VS7 & VS8 flights to/from LAX in late Feb & early Mar 2020 are still showing as being a 789 so far.

I believe the VS3 / VS4 flights are next to switch to an A351 from early November followed by the VS9 / VS 10 shortly afterwards.

Interestingly, today's VS 9 to JFK is being op'ed by an A332. You don't see those at LHR very often!

No VS haven't announced which LAX will cut over to 350 ops in the new year or when.

I too am looking to book next summer to LAX. Currently listed as all 787s and somedays even have three frequencies. I feel like there'd be too much capacity if they switched all LAX flights to a350 but I could be wrong.

Thats why there's three flights per day in the peak season. Even over the Winter, the W and J loads on LAX with 2 out of 3 flights are actually quite high. Often both cabins are full or sometimes overbooked.
