I heard a rumor on another board that it's possible to pre-order the UC sleep suit, so you're guaranteed to get your size. Has anyone heard/used this? Anyone know if it's even true?
Thanks

I haven't heard of this.

But theres two things you can do today fairly easily:

  • Ask for one in the clubhouse
  • Get on board quickly and ask the crew before they hand them out to guarantee getting your size

Thanks CommanderB. I'll try that.
The sleep suit pre-order came up on a couple of different threads in FlyerTalk Virgin forum by different people - which picked my interest. I think it sounds like a great idea, just like the meal pre-order idea which is already implemented.

This is indeed planned to launch. As part of it you’ll have the choice of shorts rather than full length bottoms and a short sleeve tshirt as well rather than long sleeve. It was confirmed at the launch of the 350 cabin. VS want customers to reuse their sleep suits so the idea is you order then reuse as it’s more customisable to you.

Some years ago they did this with the VS10 at JFK.. I'm not sure if they still do it, but the CHs do tend to have sleep suits tucked away somewhere for 'emergencies'.

I've not heard about the short sleeved version of the sleep suit either, but that sounds like a good idea to me if it does come to anything. I am one of those that packs his own PJs for use on board, although that doesn't stop me from having a drawer at home full of sleep suits pilfered over the years :-P

Many years ago, when I was in the JFK CH, a member of staff told me about an “incident “ involving changing into sleep suits before boarding. Apparently, there had been a group of business men all attending an important meeting next morning in London . They changed into sleep suits in the CH and blissfully boarded their plane. Unfortunately someone forgot to load the clothes rail of business suits ....

I love the thought of all these men arriving at LHR like members of a team of ninjas.
I wonder if the story was true ? ! :-D

Is it possible to get a sleep suit for a day flight? I’m travelling to MCO next week upper out and premium back but would really like a new set of pyjamas!

There are normally a few hidden in the cabin somewhere, depends on if the crew can find them :-P Do ask and I am sure they'll do their best to locate one for you.

I am always a bit cheeky and ask for a sleep suit on day flight out to MCO, as I like to try and grab 40 winks (plus it feels a bit indulgent and a nice way to start our holiday). I have always been lucky and the crew never seem to mind. We are also flying out to MCO next week UC, so I am hoping to get a set then :D

Please - Does anyone know when the launch is likely to happen ?
Is it only planned for the 350 routes ?
Thank you.

Love the story of the Ninja business men :-D
