Anyone know what's going on with the LHR>ATL flights over the last couple of days?

VS canceled the VS103 / VS104 flights Sunday, today (Monday) and also so far tomorrow (Tuesday) as well.

Anyone know why?

The VS109 MAN>ATL did op today as normal.

The flight status page states the following:

Information for customers due to travel on VS103 19 NOV 2019. For operational reasons this flight will now be operated by Delta Airlines under flight number DL9905 departing London Heathrow at 09:20 arriving into Atlanta at 14:15. If you have a connecting flight in your booking please check your reservation as we may have put you on alternative services. We would like to apologise that the online check in function on the website may not be available due to the changes, however the airport team will assist you.

Are VS struggling with their fleet at the minute as I also noticed an A346 op the VS105 to SEA today?

Nothing listed in The VS Source as to why they have been cancelled and I can’t see any planes being out of action due to any incidents over the last few days either.

I suspect that with BIG decommissioned, XLG in China, a 330 in MSP and 4 787's laid up, the fleet is quite stretched. There seems to have been an issue on a 332, so one of the 333;s is at LGW covering...

When will we see the next few A350's, I guess JAM will be in service shortly

PS, just seen XLG on her way back, but will another 744 go East?

I believe JAM goes into service early December. She moved from LDE (where VS appear to have had her in storage for a month or so) to BOD yesterday morning so things appear to be moving forwards now.

Looks like the next A350 (SN 415) for VS also isn't too far off going into production now as well.

Are VS still down to get one of the reworked early A351 testbed A/C as well (SN 71)? I *guess* that will just need repainting and a cabin fit so I don't think that would take too long to turn around?

I'm supposed to be on VS104 on Fri. VS are still show the flight going ahead and are therefore not offering to re-book an alternative at the moment. The 2 DL services out of ATL on Fri are down to J1 and the last I looked, there were a lot of seats chosen UC on Fri on the 104.

DL do seem to be adding an extra A/C in both directions to cover the VS flights (DL9903/DL9904 using a 332 or a 772) rather than just consolidating the VS flight into their existing 2 daily flights so you should be fine coming home though I have no idea what seats are on the DL 772ER’s?

Interesting, thanks, I hadn't noticed that. My flight shows 40 seats selected in UC (I know it's not accurate, but it's surely a guide of sorts?) and there are only 28 Delta one seats on a DL 772. I'm VS Gold on an I fare, so fingers crossed that's enough.

There won’t be the same easy connection with BA though at ATL plus I’d still rather fly VS any day of the week :)

You also have to remember that the vast majority of pax don’t care what A/C they fly on.
