We’ll be flying from MCO on a 747 with a baby and have requested a bassinet in PE. I see we can have either row 14 downstairs or row 20 upstairs. Can anyone recommend a preference for either of these? Is the legroom comparable? Is there any difference in seat size/IFE etc? Thank you.

I am not sure about the legroom, but the seat should be the same. Bulkhead seat IFE is in the arm of the chair, and sometimes that can be more cumbersome than it being in the seat back. I take the bulkheads for the extra legroom and don't bother with the IFE at all, but thats personal preference on my part and mostly on the 789/333 not the 744.

My preference would be for downstairs on the 744 due to the fact that boarding/disembarking should be through door 2L, the door directly behind the Premium cabin on the main deck. Disembarking is supposed to be downstairs Premium, Upper, Upper Deck, then the rest of the Economy main cabin, but that isn't always adhered to and sitting upstairs can risk a bit of a lengthy delay getting off.

Have to agree, row 14 for me. We did St Lucia return a few years ago before the switch to the A333's and had plenty of leg room and the bassinet for the little one was no issue, he was 3 months old at the time and slept through both ways. Cabin crew were fantastic with us and even snagged us a couple of spare UC breakfasts on the return leg as we had to do a feed while the PE service was under way.
