Missing Miles

Just tried to claim missing miles from our LHR/NYC trip last week. Flying Club page tells me that I am not eligible for miles as I paid for the flights with miles. I did not. We paid for economy and upgraded to Upper with miles. Is it true that we are not eligible for miles/tier points on the paid for part of the trip? If not, how do I go about claiming them?

You are entitled to TPs and miles for the cash economy fare.

The problem is UC upgrades and UC reward seats both book into the same fare code, G, so even if you’ve upgraded a cash fare the system automatically assumes it’s a reward booking which doesn’t earn miles & TPs.

A quick call to Flying Club should put things right.

We did this in May (upgraded from premium) and I had to ring flying club 3 times to eventually get the miles added to my account. Each time they said they would do this but in never happened so you may have to chase it up.
