I'm planning my sixth and seventh trips to Orlando so I feel like an expert, except . . . I'm taking a friend with me. Which means I'm flying Economy rather than Upper Class (which I mostly do) or PE.

I feel like I've nailed it for three of the four flights.

MAN to MCO: 25BC — exit row by the exit door, so first off the plane (I hope — I know they give priority to UC, PE and the bubble, but we're literally right there, surely they won't hold us back?) and lots of leg room

MCO to MAN: 75AB — exit row in the bubble: quiet for a night flight and lots of leg room

MAN to MCO: 25BC again

But the fourth flight is stressing me out!

Currently I have (MCO to MAN) 25BC, but I'm not thrilled about that because, although it's the exit row, it's a night flight and I'm wondering whether there are quieter, cosier options.

The bubble exit row is all booked up. I can't afford to upgrade to PE (and there are no good options anyway as all the double seats are taken).

So I'm looking at Economy Delight. Seems cosier, decent leg room (my travelling companion is 6ft4in so this is a concern) and the check-in perks will be appreciated.

BUT: questions

1. Which is the best seat / row for Delight? (It's a 747-400.)
2. Am I dumb to give up my exit row seats?
3. Would the bubble be better? Quieter, but only regular leg room.

Greatly appreciate any input.

Not all exit row seats are used to exit the plane!

So row 25 on a 747 is at the wing so isn't jet bridge compatable.

And yes they do hold Y passengers back even if if you are sat in a proper exit the plane row

Personally I would rather have a better seat for a long distance flight just to get off the plane quicker at the other end.

Yes you’ll definitely be first off in 25ABC. They can’t stop you (not that they’d try) as you’re right next to the exit door.

And yes it’s unlimited legroom BUT I found the novelty and benefits of that were tempered by the fact there’s nowhere to put your feet up and the fact that exit row seats are narrower than normal. Uncomfortably narrow, IMHO, for anyone more than average build as the armrests are fixed to accommodate the IFE monitor and table, so there’s no wriggle room.

It also feels colder due to the door but you will get served first so there are pros and cons.
