My OH needs to renew Au by the end of January. He has 770 TP and we've had to claim for 75 TP from a flight with ANA that didn't credit (despite our FC numbers being on the booking and tickets). We take a trip at the end of January (leaving on the 25th, arriving back home on the 31st) which will earn him 220 TP, so in total with those two flights he'll be over the 1,000 TP threshold. There's the possibility that these won't credit until early February, as VS always take a few days to update our accounts with miles, and ANA could take up to six weeks. Will he still renew Gold if the trips credit later? Or will I be faffing around chasing them up? Haha. Thanks!

Call VS they'll make a note on your account and will usually allow you to keep the status if evidence is provided. Shouldn't be an issue

What matters is the date of the flights not the date they hit your account.

Allow them to hit your account and it should update your status. If not call Vs. I wouldn’t call before your year end though.

Miles + TP's take around 3 days now to credit to your FC account.

I flew on Dec 28th (VS + DL), miles/TP's from both hit my account Dec 31st. All being well my return flights I took on Jan 3rd should credit tomorrow.

Sadly you can no longer do the missing miles claim trick to get the miles/TP's to hit your account any sooner :-(

From experience... you'll be 100% safe. I did a tier run ending 31st Dec with VS to secure status with Delta and no matter which partner, providing the flight is completed within the tier period, you're safe. Make sure you retain your ticket numbers as well as your PNR/Booking reference.

Regarding the ANA flight and the missing 75 tier points and just to be sure - call both airlines again. It really does help if you have the ticket number which you'll find in your flight confirmation email.

Good luck and do let us know if it works out for you.

Well, we just got an email back from FC and apparently as the ANA flight was booked through LH marketing, we aren't eligible for the miles and TP. This will leave my OH a measly 10 TP short of renewing AU :( Not really sure what else I can do so close to the end of the month. His next flight isn't until later in the year. I didn't think it would be an issue as our outbound with SQ (booked the same way) did credit. Ah well.

Slimpy, you're a star. I called & spoke to a lovely lady who went above and beyond to help out. Just got a call back from her and they have made a note on my OH's account to renew his Au after our upcoming trip despite the missing 1% of TP :) I honestly wasn't expecting anything as I know that despite being gold members we might not be that valuable to VS; we do a lot of flying with partners to destinations they don't cover and I do love a good bargain Z fare! But really happy with this outcome and I appreciate you giving me the nudge to call. Thank you!

Hi Slimpy! Just wanted to say thanks again. All our miles and TPs from the end of January were in our accounts by the 2nd Feb, and after a few days as Ag, my OH is back to Au as of today (they had to do it manually, hence it took a couple of days). We're really pleased! I mentioned this to a friend in the US who is a frequent flyer with Delta, and she said she couldn't imagine Delta ever being so generous.

Great result spacedog, and your friend is right, DL would be very unlikely to do something similar. Ha ha ha :-D
