I thought Virgin had moved the Vegas flights to heathrow. I have just booked flights for October and i am flying direct on the VS 44 which is an A330 from Gatwick to Vegas. On the return i am doing Delta to LAX then LAX to Heathrow on the A350 quite excited about that one. Does anyone know when the VS44 resumes ???

Looks like a potential charter flight... Not the one you’re booked on, but to get the plane out/back. The LHR service appears to exist both ways on all days in October, so can’t think of another reason.

What date?

Though If it is a charter (for example a sports team or a cruise) they usually have flight numbers on the 8xx range not one in the scheduled flight range.

But what is also strange is that VS even numbered flights are TO the U.K. the VS 44 used to be LAX - LGW with the 43 being the outbound.

Sorry my error it is the VS43 i am going out on. It is operating VS43 7th October 2020 departing Gatwick 12.30pm arriving las vegas 15.20pm. And departing Vegas again to come back 1740pm so it is not a charter of position for heathrow the same aircraft that is going out that day is coming back. So looks like virgin at putting flights on seasonal for Gatwick Vegas route.

I had a quick look and these flights are bookable on the VS website, albeit with availability only in PE and Upper as Economy is "sold out".

It would seem there's either something on during that week or a charter booking has been made and VS have decided to open up whatever's left for sale to the general public.

The NFL charters aren't usually offered for public booking though and they usually don't have normal flight numbers. And they would be sat in UC and PE rather than economy (well the staff would be in economy not the players and management!)

Plus the 4th is a Sunday and the 7th a Wednesday which dosen't really fit in with NFL timetable os weekend games.
