VS extends flying club status renewals by 6 months

Just had the email confirming that status renewals will have a 6 month grace period due to coronavirus.

Details were light, but more information will follow I think. Nice of VS to get ahead of things and look after their loyal customers.

Even if you have not had an email, do check your online account as I noticed my AU renewal was extended by 6 months yesterday but had no emails so far here.

Yep, mine is now showing +6 months as well.

Same here. I did however get the email last Friday , and there are now details on the website.

As has been said, a little light on detail right now (e.g. how will this be accounted for in Gold for Life?), but that is unimportant at this stage. It is a very welcome move by Virgin Flying Club. I'm sitting at 950pts this year, with flights booked to take me through easily , but with little likelihood that I'll be taking these flights, or booking anything new for months...

If this goes on longer (which I think it will) I see a whole year extension happening. It was clear from the original message that they are continually assessing things.
