Hi
Myself and wife are nearing the end of a 14 day Holiday in Orlando
Weather has been scorching and we had no interest in visiting the theme parks
All parks and many shops are closed in Orlando

3 days ago we received a text from VS with headline stating “your flight has been cancelled” then further down if had a link for us to give VS info on whether we needed a return flight to the UK
My wife immediately burst into tears at thought of being trapped in the USA.
Whereas I knew VS had an obligation getup back to the UK and had to pay hotel and food etc expenses if we are delayed,
The VS text should have been worded better stating that all VS flights needed to be rescheduled- this would have avoided panic from customers.
3 days on we have just received a text from VS reservations stating they are working on arranging our return flights so now our fingers are crossed

It looks like one LGW/MCO rotation a day will continue to operate until Friday. Thereafter, barring any ad hoc rescue flights, any remaining Florida pax trying to get home will have to travel via ATL or JFK.

As for the tone of the email, there’s a fine line between panic-inducing and robust messaging. I’m still reading posts on forums (not V-Flyer, thankfully) by Brits who still believe this situation doesn’t affect them and are vowing not to let it disrupt their lives.

For some, I’m afraid a tough wake-up call is required.
