Looking to book return flights from LHR (preferably) to MCO for next year.

I've always booked via VA.com but direct flights aren't showing on there. It's really pushing for 1 stop flights. I'm keen to book now for various reasons, can anyone help me find out about VS91. It seems to be a number from a discontinued route. It is visible on expedia. I've also tried Virgin Holidays (who I wouldn't book through but just for comparisons sake) and I can't see it there. Delta doesn't have it either but KLM does.

So , whilst the price is good, should I book on expedia and keep my fingers crossed? It wouldn't be the end of the world if they switched it to LGW in future, but I really want to fly direct.

VS91 (and the return VS92) are the new Orlando flight numbers from Heathrow. They haven’t started yet but when they do they’ll replace the old Gatwick flights.

I would strongly advise against using Expedia, or any other travel agent, to book flights right now. Should something go wrong and your plans have to change it’s a lot easier to manage if you booked direct.

And should, god forbid, VS go under you’d have no problem getting your money back from your credit card company if you book direct whereas if you use an agent you’d have far fewer rights.

To be brutally honest - and others may well disagree - I would hold off booking any VS flights until its future - and the future of travel to the US in general - becomes clearer.

Thank you! Would you book through KLM or does that have the same rights issues if VA doesn't make it?
I presume you don't have a crystal ball, but any guesses as to how long before they appear on the VA website?

That’s a bit of a grey area. If they’re KLM flight numbers (ie codeshares) I think KLM would have to either refund you or fulfil your booking which could well mean connecting in Amsterdam if VS is no more.

But I’m not 100% on that - if KLM end up as a creditor of VS if it goes into administration it’s possible that you’d lose everything.

As for VS91, last I looked they were on sale between Oct 2020 and March 2021. Beyond the end of March it’s the new summer timetable which hasn’t yet been announced.
