Guys. As far as I’m aware UK citizens can’t travel to India, Hong Kong or USA right now - right?

So if I book flights to India (which are available) am I taking the risk that I may be denied entry?

What does everyone think?

As far as I can make out India is not issuing tourist visas so, as a British tourist without a visa, you wouldn’t even be allowed on the flight.

Any leisure travel at the moment is fraught with risk - even if you are allowed to fly, there are things like quarantine, curfews, closed attractions / restaurants / bars , travel restrictions and, of course, infection to consider.

I LOVE to travel, but think I will be leaving it until I can enjoy the anticipation of the trip, rather than worry about what I might find on arrival.

Nick in addition to your very true and reflective comments, another consideration is ..... after arriving at our destination we all have to worry about getting home. My partner keeps referring back to our anxieties of March, could all that happen again.

I so wish I had that Crystal Ball ‘Gumshoe’ referred to in a recent post, coz I really want to take advantage of the fantastic deals VS are running at the moment. My sensible head says think seriously about the risks but my impulsive side is telling me we need to have something to look forward to in 2021. :-O

We got to booking page last week and welched -> purely down to COVID related insurance matters. Had the flights we wanted ready to go... but then we said no.

Virgins policy (no medical contditions) only runs until end April as I see it -> unless you take their insurance, which also doesn't cover my wifes pre-existing conditions so would be void (Asthma). Our current policys have a blanked Covid exemption now unless trip booked prior to Mar 20. We want to go ideally next June to MCO to use some expiring DVC points. Given wifes Asthma, we won't be going until vaccinated, but shuold be (both) eligable due to medical conditions to be "early" so we thought we would go next April. But a trip to USA without cover for any Covid complicatiosn given Vaccine isn't 100% is a concern. (even on the better tested Vaccines). If Virgin extended their Covid cover, I would have booked in a heartbeat.

Given the speed/ease of rollout of the AstraZenica vaccine, I suspect we'll be in a different space next summer, but will insurance policys catch up by then.. I suspect not, having worked in that industry.
