Looks like VS have updated their Flying Club account home page with couple of new additions.

There's a new section to now create a household account (if you are Gold or Silver).

You can now also (finally) add your membership card to Apple Wallet (Click View Membership card then the 'Add to Apple Wallet' icon).

When I set mine up (4 of us) VS just transferred everyone else's miles into my account at no cost (main account holder) so they were then all together for future use.

That's my experience as well. But I did mine over the phone and specifically asked for this to happen.

I am looking at creating a household account for myself and my wife.

Currently she has quite a few more miles than me, but typically I will be earning more miles going forward because of my Virgin Atlantic credit card spend. We usually travel together.

Does it make sense for me to set up the household account or for my wife to do so, or does it not really matter?

Thanks

It doesn't really matter, though it would make sense for you to have the household account if that's where your credit card spend points are going to go and you're going to be doing the booking of tickets. It's worth noting that it's only new points earned that get pooled into the household account, not existing ones.

You can also set yourself as an authorised user on another account (with the account holder's permission of course), which means you can spend from that account too, even if you don't set up a household account. That's what I have done previously, and then you can make up a spend on reward flights from points accrued in both accounts.

I can't get any "add to wallet" option when viewing my membership card.
