Hi
Sorry but I’m I’m confused,
Flying TPA-ATL-LHR shortly in upper, all on one itinerary/ticket and have silver status with flying club.
I believe I’m entitled to a 3rd checked in bag up to 23KG.
However is this for both the connecting flight in Delta First Class from Tampa to Atalanta and the onward Virgin Flight to London or just the leg operated by Virgin Atlantic.
Web site for Virgin Silver benefits states: 1 extra piece of checked baggage at 23kg on Virgin Atlantic operated flights.
Which seems to rule out this benifit on a connecting flight like this.
Thank you

I'm not 100% sure on the exact rules, but you do get "some" extra baggage.

The link below states FC silver gives you sky team elite status and you should get an extra piece of luggage or an increase of 20kg. So I think this is virtually the same as FC silver with VS flights.

Also if the flight was ticketed by virgin and the DL flight is part of the same ticket, I imagine the VS FC silver baggage rules will apply to both flights. But I'm not 100% sure. Certainly on the outbound I would expect this to be the case. But the DL agents might try and disagree on your inbound and I can't find anything to help you if that happens.

Hopefully someone will come along and clarify for sure.

I'm fairly sure its the rules of the ticketing carrier that apply here. But as matt says, I wouldn't be at all surprised if the DL agents on the inbound have an issue.

If that happens I'd start by saying "well it was OK on the outbound trip" and play dumb a little. (Assuming it was OK outbound).
