Hi All,
First timer so this may be common knowledge here!
I have been a BA Gold for a long time but decided to spend the Avios that I had and this has led to me dropping down the ranks as BA don't give tier points for redemptions, unlike Virgin.
Anyway this has been quite liberating as I can now see what is out there!
I'm thinking of booking to Mauritius. Air France fly there but one of their flights is a codeshare with Air Mauritius. I am guessing that the AF option will get points and miles but will it be the same if I book the Air Mauritius? I'm leaning towards AF anyway but it would be good to build up some information on schemes other than the Executive Club!

Welcome to V:Flyer :-)

You are correct in assuming that code-shared AF flights op'd by other carriers won't earn Virgin points or tier points. From this page on the VS website / Air France earn points section.

if you expand the T&C's section, it mentions the following:

Partner airlines’ codeshare flights may not be eligible for mileage accrual depending on the actual operating airline.  Points are not applicable on a SkyTeam marketed flight operated by an airline not within the SkyTeam alliance

As Air Mauritius are not a member of SkyTeam, there would no Virgin points or tier points awarded for that flight.
