Incorrect “miles flown” on Flying Club

Is it just me, or has anyone else got a blatantly incorrect “miles flown” figure showing on their flying club account?

If I divide the miles flown figure on my FC account by 4200 (approx distance between MAN & MCO, which is my normal route) I get 40 flights, so 20 round trips. (Before you throw in the odd NYC trip).

I know the miles flown figure is wrong, as I have stayed in our usual accommodation on I-Drive 32 times, and I only fly VS.

Mine is on the low side as well.

My own spreadsheet calculates I’ve flown 592,043 miles on VS metal since I joined Flying Club in 2000 yet VS has me down as flying just 502,619 miles?

No idea where the difference comes from? I use the base miles figure in my spreadsheet for each route.

Edit to add - If I play around with my spreadsheet and ignore all flights before March 2005, the miles flown figure *almost* matches what VS say so I wonder if the VS system isn't counting flight flown before that date?

Another possibility could be reward flights; as those do now definitely count towards that total miles flown figure, but I wonder if that has always been the case?

At least VS have now fixed the ‘member since’ date!

My understanding is that for Lifetime Gold reward flight TP now contribute. But if you're looking at the million miler figure on the my account page, then it's paid flights only.

My lifetime paid butt in seat miles is showing as 1,243,550 but my own calculations I think I should be around 120,000 higher so I'm sure they're miscalculating somewhere...

I originally joined in 1999 with the old freeway programme which, if memory serves, needed you to take 3 RT flights before you could be a full member and claim miles. I'm convinced the old freeway miles aren't included in the million miler total.

That miles flown figure does include reward flight base milage as before my last return flight in October which was a reward G fare, my total was <500,000.

No idea what the app shows these day as the my account page on the app has not worked since before COVID as all l get on the page is 'SkyMIles Data Error Try Again'. The website also no longer lists any of my booked flights (though I believe that is a fairly widespread issue).
