No idea, however, G-VINE did the same thing in November as well. Flew to BRU Nov 26th as the VS818P then flew home 23rd Dec; almost a month later?
Some sort of maintenance perhaps?
It could potentially be end of lease maintenance as the aircraft is supposed to be retired in February. There is a chance it may have already had its final revenue flight for Virgin. KSS will probably be off to BRU next as that is also retiring in February.

I flew MAN>ATL a few days after INE returned from BRU on Dec 28th. Everything appeared to be working at it should have been. My seat 8A was in good condition with everything working.
Well apart from 2 of the 3 washrooms in between J & W being taken out of use during the flight leaving just the forward one for the J cabin and 1 functioning washroom in between J and W.

INE is meant to be around for at least another couple of years. SXY and KSS are meant to be going next month. KSS is going to fly for Wamos air. Don’t think SXY has another airline to go to yet. I also read somewhere a while ago that GEM might be leaving the fleet in April.

Heaven help us - it was looking tired back in November (in Upper). I hope it does not get run down to the state that V-BIG got to. Flew out on her to Orlando and things were literally falling off - she was retired during our week in Orlando. Was not sad to see her leave the fleet.
SXY back in service today as the VS157 to BOS.
Looks like UFO also had issues on Monday as the VS92 from MCO had to divert to YYT and she is still there today. Todays VS91 & VS92 also cancelled. JAZ positioned from JFK to YYT and is heading back from YYT to LHR now as the VS92, which looks like a rescue flight for Monday's diversion
Very messy by the looks of things!!

The A333s haven’t had a very good start to the year. WAG has also had multiple issues over the last week which has resulted in cancelled flights.
It would make sense for VS to try and speed up the delivery of the A339s and get rid of the A333s ASAP.

It’s not always that simple because it depends who’s paying for the aircraft , 80% of the time VS lease aircraft over 10 to 12 years. However during the pandemic VS had to re work it’s balance sheet. One of the things that came out of that is VS wanted to own more aircraft outright. So some of the A350/A339’s are owned. I think the reason for taking the pause in deliveries in 2025 is to reduce capital expenditure. Also delivery slots are set years in advance so unless DL want to help VS out I cannot se how that would be possible this year.
Also a couple of them went to China for a few months on a sublease.
