It's been a loooooooooooooong time, not sure if anyone remembers me but I was a pretty frequent VS flyer about 10-15 years ago, until their changing schedules and my changing work needs meant I ended up moving over to BA.
I might end up on another VS flight soon, partly out of expediency and partly from being generally peed off with what BA has been up to recently.
I've got no VS status any more - the good news is that I have Skyteam Elite+ status with ITA Volare (a status match, never actually used it yet!). The bad, or at least uncertain part though is I'm really unsure what reciprocal benefits I'll get from VS. Could someone help me with the following:
- Free seat selection in Y, including exit row? For all in my booking? Even through a TA?
- Lounge access? I believe the LHR CH is specifically excluded, but others are fine?
-UC checkin and priority boarding including everyone traveling with me (may end up with 2 separate bookings but same flights)
Personally I'd rather just book one segment in PE and use my current BA gold status for a match over to VS gold, but the match T&Cs say that I'd be excluded both on the basis of having other Skyteam status AND also having held VS status in the past (probably 12 years ago admittedly!). So I think I'm SOL there unless anyone has different experiences.
