Overnight in AMS

Hi

Has anyone done an overnight stop in AMS before with a through flight booked for the next day.

Example I am being given is

17:15 MAN to AMS then the next day 9:50 AMS to CUN which would all be on one ticket.

Can luggage be checked through? And do I need to checkin again at AMS?

Not done this before but keen on the pricing!

I did it about 11 years ago. My friend had booked the trip, but we had to collect our bags and check in again as it was a separate leg. However, we had deliberately booked it so we had the best part of 24 hours in AMS to spend the day in the city and sleep in a hotel overnight, so it made sense for us to get our bags anyway.

I do not know whether you can check them through given the nightstop I'm afraid. However, a few years prior when we were connecting onwards within a matter of hours the bags were checked through to our destination.
