Hi folks,

On average, how long are people waiting for the FC renewal/upgrade packs to come through the post?

I requalified my Au status for another 12 months back in November, and my existing cards, etc., expired at the end of December.

Having spoken to FC Premier Team, they tell me that a renewal pack was ordered for me in the card pull done on 6th December, but nothing's come through the post as yet.

The Premier Team's advice is to "wait for another week or two".

My gut feeling is that it's gone MIA in the postal system.

Anyone else having long waits for correspondance from VS?

hmm. They COULD blame the Xmas post, but that does seem a little excessive to be missing a month after the pull was done (and the fact that your cards have expired means you have a problem...)

Personally, I'd be on the phone asking for a replacement.

AFAIK there was a 2 week delay on the renewal packs [:(]

I would call FC and see if they can advise you further

It probably won't be too much of a problem on VS, as they can look in the database and see my Au status is current. (For example, I appear as Au on the pax lists, on the touch-screens on entry the LHR clubhouse, etc.)

I can imagine it being a problem for any VS partners, and potentially some of the down-line VS stations.

Personally, I'd be on the phone asking for a replacement.

Just phoned back, got to speak to someone different, who said they would order a new kit for me, as it sounded like an excessive delay, despite all the other extenuating circumstances.

Ours have come through in under 2 weeks last couple of renewals,mrs asked for replacement cards a few years ago as vs staff(among others)coundn't get their heads around the fact she users her middle name not her first name,these took about 5 months and lots of phone calls to arrive(she now uses her first name for travel:D)

I renewed at the end of November and my cards run out at the same time. Nothing for me either yet.... Maybe its in the same place as my Xmas gift.

My renewal was up in December and my pack came through last week. A note book from SRB in it too this time round.

Just spoke to Premier Team who say that my renewal was December (which is strange) and that the renewal pack has been pulled in January and can take up to 28 days. I'll let you know when it arrives

I'm in the same situation as you. My current card expired in December 2005 as well, the web site says I've re-newed my Au status as I've been awarded a companion ticket but as with you, no new membership pack yet. I just hope they arrive before Jan 28th as I've got my FC # on a BMI booking and I have no doubt that BMI will pick up on an expired FC Au card. Mine is probably in the same place as my 2100 birthday miles which still havn't appeared yet either.

Well the prem team did say to me that using the out of date card wasnt a problem, I too am flying in a week (at least this is with VS), so I guess we shall see.

I have the same issue, my new card was apparantly sent on 6th December but hadn't arrived when I left for the US again on 6th Jan. Premier were cahsing the correct people in marketing as I have had the same problem for the last two years [xx(].

Hopefully should be on my doorstep when I get home.

Hi,

Strangely enough, I phoned VS in late December and I was told that my card ( exp 12/05) was also ordered on 6th Dec. Nothing has come through yet. I did do 2 FC flights with HP ( SFO-PHX rtn) with no problem on recording the card and miles & tier points have posted already.

Hi

I gained silver back at the begining of November and I am still waiting for my new card. I have been to NYC 3 times since with virgin and each time i have called the help line to ask if i am going to get my new card. Each time they say its being processed but nothing comes through the letter box.[n] I sent them an email last week and I got a reply saying that it had been produced and is awaiting dispatch??!?!? Am I being fed a line here?[?]

Well I have an update for you. My wife, who was silver and her year ended the same as mine (12/05) didn't maintain her status and her Red Card turned up. The only problem is that I new she wouldn't have enough tier points so subscribed her to a supp silver account against my Gold Card. So not so good after all..

Nope, and I phoned them yesterday and they tried to tell me I won't get mine until the end of Feb? My cards have an expiry on them on 11/05. After a bit of bargaining they agreed to request that they have been resent. So somewhere there is a problem. Mrs B silver pack came through without any problems. Do you think we are at risk of Gold Card Identity Theft?

Right I spoke to the lovely person at VS that looks after this today as mine still hadn't turned up, you may need to phone through to FC and get them to check this:

For some reason on my account the 'Person Not Present' flag had been set in the Oracle database, which is apparntly set if a piece of mail from VS is returned back to them by Royal Mail. Now it would appear that lovely Oracle is having a fit as allegedly that flag has been set since November 2004 for me, but I have been getting post from VS including my birthday card, so they are looking into the issue further. So if you are still waiting over a month later (past your renewal date) then phone up FC and get them to check with the contact in marketing.

This does seem to be happening for a lot of people and VS have definitely got a problem here which they need to sort out. I renewed gold in November and my current card expired in December. I called early Jan to check on it as I'm flying next week. They told me one had been ordered in December and ordered another one while I was on the phone. Still nothing showed up at home. I am still getting other mail from VS so they still know I exist.

I keep getting told that there is little FC can do about it as the cards are sent out by "another company" and all they can do is keep asking this "other company" to send new cards out. Nothing happens.
Methinks they should start to realise that said "other company" is crap and needs shouting at or sacking.

So, I get back from the US today, and find a letter containing a "replacement" Flying Club membership card.

Replacing what? So, no HEx/GEx vouchers, no bag tags for me it seems - despite 3 phone calls. [:(]

I still have not had mine despite a further call to the Prem team. I did have a recorded delivery notification dropped through that I haven't yet collect but I don't know what this is. Did any of your packs come recorded (or maybe it was just 'too big to fit letterbox' as this was also ticked.

I still haven't had mine either. I've been waiting since start of December as well. I've called them twice and they've confirmed that the card has been "pulled" - twice. They've promised to email the company that does the cards but still nothing. I'm due to fly again in late March. What are the odds on having a new card by then?

With the number of people reporting problems, Virgin must know that something is very wrong here and should be doing something about it.

I have called FC and they told me it would be sent out in March.
