I just wish they would get on with it, it makes booking things like car hire a pain.

Yes, I totally agree! If they know they are going to cancel the service, just cancel it and move people to other flights.
I’ve only ever had one cancellation with Virgin, which was the night before departure. They did get me booked on to an alternative flight (with delta connection) in Upper Class.
I just hate how the agents say « flights can be pulled from sale for various reasons » when 98% of the time it will be due to cancellation of service.
I know January is off off peak, but really not a lot of booked seats on the alternative flight.
Whereas on my LHR-MIA, UC and PR is 50% occupied already, and a lot in Economy.
I also think due to high number of points needed for MCO, a lot are booking other routes and then making domestic connection to MCO.
As the MCO-LHR flight still available on my departure day is 200k points each, whereas I paid 29k each for vs136. No seats occupied on the other service.

They do all the flight schedule changes on a Saturday, so will be most likely at the weekend (hopefully soon) when notified.

If booked in Economy/ Premium should be fine.
Just UC to be careful of as the other MCO flight is on A350 leisure. So 15 less seats than A330-300. That’s where issues may occur

Likewise. I wonder have they "allocated" spots on the alternative flight, but just not completed the transaction by emailing us etc. Wishful thinking maybe.

Exactly what Delta said to me when I booked LHR-MCO and they took it off sale. But with Delta that same weekend they formally cancelled the flights from the schedule.

Operations and customer service need to be improved with VA massively.

I’m waiting 20+ business days for a partial refund of taxes when I changed reward seat which was lower points and lower taxes. Agent who dealt with booking changes changed the currency from USD to GBP which had caused issues on their end.

Another refund earlier this year was delayed by 45 working days as it was reward seat booking booked through VA, on VA metal and I had made a change to the booking prior and they reticketed with Delta e-tickets 006, so they thought it was a Delta booking.

Not necessarily W25 relevant, but crew chat on board today is about starting of Seoul (even if reward bookings currently suspended they don't believe it will be canx), re-starting Shanghai, starting somewhere in southern India (Chennai?), Dubai going year round and....starting Phuket!! Plus stopping Seattle. And changes to Riyadh, something to do with slot-sitting for Riyadh Air and the VS service being changed to day out, overnight back.

Can 100% see an increase in India and Chennai is a good shout - Mumbais are very busy now.

Riyadh will also be adjusted there is far too much capacity right now and that's even before adding in Riyadh Air.

Dubai I think will go year round but not daily in Summer season - 3 weekly maybe.

Seoul is 100% going to be used for the slot - however I highly suspect it's being impacted by 789 availability right now.

I’ve heard rumours of SEA being axed too. Perhaps Delts will pick up the extra slot as they’ve just opened the SEA D1 lounge

Both VS and DL currently op a daily direct flight LHR>SEA. Interesting that VS also now swapped from using a B789 to an A339 on the SEA route.

I’m booked on the VS106 at the end of Oct so I’ll be keeping my eye on what happens with SEA!

A return to PVG is surely unlikely given the main reason it was canned in the first place was the diversions around Russian airspace.

This situation remains unchanged so I can’t see why they’d consider this again so soon

I was looking at SEA in January and it appears most have been switched back to B789.
I think Vs changed to A339 as Delta was scheduled to operate on their A339, but Delta has reverted back to A330-200, so I believe Vs has also reverted back to B789 on most flights.

Aeroroutes, though I can’t find the extract release. If you try booking a return flight in Dec and you will see the VS flight only ops on Monday, Wed, Fri or Sun. Other days just list the DL codeshared flight

I would really like Virgin to extend a route east. BKK, PVG, NRT, ICN ... ANYTHING that gets me into Asia beyond India.

At the moment I am flying Emirates and Cathay a lot. I love Virgin but they are quickly becoming useless to me. I appreciate a lot of people still fly to the US but my gosh they are flying a lot of weird routes these days I mean they have a lot of routes these cant all be full?

Just reviving this topic - Does anyone happen to have an information when VA will officially cancel their winter flights and reshuffle passengers onto the other flights that day?

We're in Premium, and I'd like to get things like car hire, and lounge access booked.

Not sure it's much of a yard stick but I've now been bumped on to VS91 from VS135 for a flight in November. VS136 still seems to be coming back but has had a significant schedule change.

May have be said elsewhere but the high ‘J’ A350-1000 is introduced for winter schedule MAN-MCO VS73/74 from late October, maybe chances for redemptions at more reasonable rates.
JFK/ATL remains A333

I'm sick of Virgin changing flights. VS 131 has changed from 11.15am to 8am. Apart from giving us next to no time in the Clubhouse it means I'll have to stay at Heathrow overnight.

A lot of the W25 issues are also down to the RR Trent issues and how VS juggle the fleet.

They also are having to move schedules around based on demand - Cape Town as an example is now a night flight both ways meaning lengthy time on the ground at CPT which is not a brilliant use of the asset but should drive some further demand onto VS given the old flight time was a day flight and pretty awful.
