not sure what will happen in this scenario ?
booked some last minute flights a few days away for me and partner in premium cash booking
we are VS silver and AF platinum
however only one seat is available in premium cabin and that is preferred £75
i am not paying for seating so???

If you’re only silver, I’d imagine there would be others ahead of you on the free upgrade list.

What’s the flight number and date and we can look at the loads.

Generally agreed. Although OpUps aren’t just based on status. Things like fare bucket and number of passengers on the PNR are factors too. Getting OpUps as a single gold on an expensive fare is usually the way. VS tends to not split parties up for obvious reasons.

As for bassinets, the reason the bulkhead is empty is that it’s the only place for bassinets (as most know). The check in agents can clearly see who has an infant - staff can pull up the load sheet, select the cabin and filter it to easily see this. It’s uncommon to get given a bulkhead then get kicked out of it because the staff know who really need these seats.
