New menu

Flying UC Man-Barb next week and logged into the pre order portal and there is only regular options - chicken, cod or veggie? Flew from Heathrow last year and had about 10 options - called virgin who told me to log in 72 hrs before but I can't see the options changing?

Your options wont change for any MAN flight as they all only offer the standard meals when it comes to pre-ordering. This has always been the case unfortunately. Yet another 2nd class service offering from VS at MAN.

I've raised this multiple times with VS and you never get a straight answer from them. My guess is It's because VS may well use a different catering company for MAN flights?

Virgin 100% use Gate Gourmet at Manchester & I am pretty certain the same for all ex-Heathrow flights. So there is no reason [in theory] why the Manchester kitchen could not produce an improved selection of menu items. It probably comes down to economies of scale though, given the small number of Manchester flights compared to Heathrow. All Heathrow Clubhouse catering is contracted out to Sodexho.

It's actually bad for the Manchester crews when the inbound food selection back to Manchester is often better than the outbound (especially as it's generally accepted that ex-USA meals are not as good).

Pre booked my meal for VS91 (LHR-MCO) on the 26th - not exactly much to choose from - so went with the chicken rogan Josh.

Given today’s flight is 2hrs 40 late in departing - breakfast in the clubhouse maybe worthwhile filling up beforehand !!

Pre-Order Upper Class menu for my VS3 flight on Sunday 28th Dec.

I'm still in 2 minds, either the cod or the chicken burger. VS's new AI recommends the chicken burger (though this is the new AI that can't even correctly calculate tier point earnings on Z fares which I've just tested it with )

I’m picking between the chicken burger, rogan josh or chicken 2 ways. I know they’ll all be meh, but any first hand reports as to which is least meh?
