Hi -Am visiting the Bellagio later in the year and am interested in anybody's opinion of the spa facility there .I have read some of the LAS trip reports and although I gets mentioned a few times (I think Highflyer's report was the last one) there's not a huge ammount of detail in any of the reports about the spa facilities there( as they're essentially TRs).The hotel website describes treatments available but little else.I'd be really grateful for any info/advice /comments as I feel my period of abandonment (while husband pretends he's Devilfish) may be a lenghty one(I may as well have some fun whilst i'm there as I'm a clueless gambler ). Many thanks.

Dragonlady - we were there last week and we LOVED it!

My husband and I had 9am appointments for a refresher mini-massage. It was $75 each, which seems expensive, but we were able to use the Spa's facilities for the whole day. We had our 20 minute massages and came back later in the day to use the spa, sauna and steamroom.

It was the most luxurious spa we've ever been to. They had hot and cold drinks, which you could help yourself to at any time, and changing rooms had everything you could possibly need, e.g. hairdryers, hair straightners, hair scrunchies, shaving equipment, moisturisers, deodrant, etc.

My only disappointment was that the women and men have separate spa areas, so I couldn't use the facilities with my husband.

I've done a trip review on tripadvisor.com, if you're interested in reading more. Here's the link to part one.

Give me a shout if you have any other queries.

Thanks U2fan. Don't think the husband will be too bothered as he''ll be too busy losing his hard earned cash somewhere else and I'll be quite happy chilling out on my own .
Will have a resd of the trip report. Many thanks for the help.

No worries!

I've read quite a few reviews of the Bellagio Spa on http://www.trip.advisor.com, so it might be worth having a search on there for other comments too.

Hiya

Thought is give you my penneth worth as you had read my trip report. I frequently use spas on my travels (used to be the only time that i got a decent massage) so i have probably had every treatment going at one time or another.

I used the Spa several times during that stay at Bellagio. The experiences were all absolutely fab. I had the Ashiatsu Massage which was spot on, nice firm pressure but also very relaxing, and also a facial and a wrap & mud bath combo IIRC.

As U2fan says, the spa is very luxurious (as you would expect in Bellagio) with anything you could want or need to hand. There are lots of relaxation areas inbetween treatments and of course the lovely jacuzzi pools and steam room. The treatments are done in seperate male/female areas, probably because they are almost integrated into seperate changing areas, but as far as i recall, you can relax afterwards in unisex surroundings as there is a small lounge style area - or you can head off to the pool.

I would definately recommend the spa if you are considering it, its not cheap (but spas never are) thought it will make you feel very relaxed and pampered. If you have not been to many spas you might want to start off with a basic Aromatherapy or Swedish massage. Personally, i prefer a good old traditional Thai or Ashiatsu massage, these really are something to be experienced as they are akin to a whole body workout, almost like forced yoga, but it does my back the world of good.

All the wraps, scubs and peels are ok, but not really my cup of tea. I had a seaweed wrap in Bangkok one time and they basically wrapped me in cold seaweed and then in, what can best be described as 'Bacofoil' for half an hour - until it was time for me to be unwrapped, stand spread-eagled and be hosed down from afar.

Facials are always fab for me, and also a good treatment to have if your not sure what to ask for. They are usually combined with shoulder and scalp massage for the relaxation element.

If theres anything you want to know feel free to ask (or PM) an ill gladly fill you in, but i would definately give it a try!

Thanks,
Sarah

We made full use of the Spa during our stay last year. The boys side was quite fabulous! We'd booked a Couples Massage so took plenty of time before and after the treatment to make full use of our day pass.

We arrived, warmly welcomed and explain to help ourselves to the huge range of drinks available - water fountains, canned soft drinks and fruit juices, herbal teas etc. Changed into our robes, being single sex it was a clothing-optional environment which was appreciated.

They had a huge TV next to the reception area showing ESPN or some sports channel with a range of magazines to look through. Four pluge pools, one cold, three warm / hot with bubbles. Yum! Sauna, steam room, showers etc. Plenty of shaving foams, creams, shavers, adfter shave etc in the sinks area. Which also had a door which led onto a small balcony overlooking the pools you could sit and sun-bathe on loungers.

The decor was very classy, very masculine too. All the staff were incredibly helpful, and quite obsessive about ensuring there were hundreds of towels available. There was never going to be a sudden shortage of them.

About five mins before our treatment time we waited in robes and slippers on the seats by the reception area. One of the staff then walked us to the treatment lounge. This is a collection of seats where you wait for your therapist (therapists in our case) to come and collect you. Quite a warm, but the whole spa is beautifully decorated.

The treatments where delicious - hot stone and swedish techniques. Will definately be booking again.

You'll love it there!

Thank you both Highflyer and Fozzyo. The spa sounds wonderful and I will be definately be off there for a few days (on my own as husband will be preoccupied -ie playing poker). I use the Nirvana spa simply because it's the only spa in the UK that has a Dead Sea Flotation Room (you can reedeem FC Miles -20,000 I believe for a day pass or cough up about £150 plus treatments for a premium day pass plus flotation treatment -see spending miles link in FC)which is absolutely fab and worth every penny (probably NOT as cool as the hot tub in the Clubhouse though!!Colleages can't believe I've been in a hot tub in an AIRPORT!!- They do when I show them the pictures!!!!! Does this make me a perv Highflyer??).
Hot stones I can cope with, but noxious aquatic substances are not for me (have allways avoided Thallasso treatments like the plague!!)
Highflyer were you really wrapped in Bacofoil,spread-eagled, and hosed down??....(my brother is a marine biologist by profession and has tried to put put me off either eating anythig that comes out of the sea -hasn't worked though!! )
Will probably stick to "tame stuff" which will revive my inner Karma and make me feel hugely better (and broke).
Many thanks once again everyone for the advice.

Does anyone know what the charge is just to use the spa without booking a treatment?

I think its about $25 and only available to guests staying at the hotel, or other MGM Mirage properties at the very least.

According to Bellagio if you're only looking to use the spa( ie not booking treatments)this can only be done if staying in the Bellagio itself (and not just in one of the other MGM group hotels ).Cost as Dean says is $25 for entry alone but is included in the price of any treatment.
