IE7 Beta 2 out

IE7 Beta 2 is out, but if you are not one of the IT crowd (love that programme, cannot look at IT people the same way ever again!)
don't download as you cannot revert back to IE 6

I have been running V-Flyer on IE7 for around 9 months, on the whole it has been fine. With the recent build I am using there are some issues loading up the pages, I had to move V-Flyer into a trusted site zone for it to work properly. But then I am using IE7 as part of Windows Vista.

Some sites will not work, in particular some of the Internet Banking sites. I do have the registry strings to make IE7 appear as IE6 to sites, let me know if you would like these.

You mean the holes? FireFox has quite a fair share of its own problems, just that people aren't as interested in them due to the little publicity they get.

As you know im neither a Mac nor a Linux user,why,becuase my fav games aren't not put out for them,end of story.

I'll wait till I get a good look at Vista before I figure out my next move OS wise,I figure this rig im using now has about another year in it,by then with any luck there should be a dual proc N Force MoBo out,so I can have some real fun again,Vista run 4 procs? and what about OS X?

I tried to install this the other day...it wouldn't go on for some reason...it got so far then rolled back. It seems several other people on the IE7 user forums also have the same problem.

Actually, dont be too hasty to judge. I doubt Netscape will ever get their foot back in the door like they used to, but Netscape 8 does a nice job of handling site incompatibility by having both the IE and FF engine to switch between.

Very true. We all know im an avid FireFox fan, but in all fairness i will give IE7 a proper test now its in Beta without first passing judgement .. completely. I welcome some of the additions that bring IE7 up to speed with other browsers, its just that IMHO, there just isnt anything superior in the release. There is a great piece here that compares the Betas of both browsers.

FF is by no means without its flaws, but the same goes for IE.

If all that comes from the battle of the browsers is improvement for the user, then im all for it.

Urrgh. The IT Crowd. Couple of funny bits I grant you, but how to make the work HATE the IT Dept. I am sure I have read how Cabin Crew take exception to a film recently (was it Flight Plan?), the same and more could be said about the IT crowd. That has damaged years of trying to shake the IT image!

Right, I'm off to renumerate my company subnet from a public 17 bit netmask to a private 23 bit net mask!

Well got it installed,um it's ok,having problems with a few of my fav websites,but nothing major.

Ive been testing IE7 and MSN8 today in the office. Im actually (god forbid) on V-Flyer right now in IE7

V-Flyer loads instantly in FF, in IE7 it takes ages because of the DXB pop-up, which incidentally i dont even see in FF as i have disabled it. Cant do this in IE7 [:(]

The layout is taking a lot of getting used to, why oh why did they rearrange the buttons! They were fine as they were - and - you cant even rearrange them yourself! Its times like this that i kiss the feet of open source code!

Also loving the RSS feed button .. seen that somewhere before i think? [:p] (taken from FF)

The tabbed browsing is a good thing, im sure once the IE6 users get used to it they will love the concept. I still dont like not being able to rearrange my tabs though, but at least IE is now useable for me as a browser!

... Im still not giving up FF though!!

Managed to install IE 7 now here. Very impressed with it

Most sites seem to work, although it doesn't like booking Qantas flights for some reason [:?]
