Firstly the link to download the v-tool appears to have gone provided a 404 error.

I recently had to do a rebuild on my laptop and wanted to download the v-tool again. You may ask why as the availability function no longer works due to the demise of the public server providing this info.

But I still found the v-tool very useful. I found it particularly useful for keeping track of my and Mrs B frequently flyer balances all in one place. I also found having the seat maps in one place useful without being connected to the internet.

So, can the link to V-tool be re-instated? And although that Pete and the mod and admin team for V-Flyer are extremely busy people, but could you consider revising V-Tool to build on some really good functionality that it currently has. A seat map update would particularly be appreciated.

Does anyone have any ideas that would really make life easier for them that pete and the team could consider for future inclusion into V-Tool. Lets be realistic!

If the functionality was good enough I am sure this is an area that could accept a small charge for the use.

At the moment, the V-Tool is currently considered dead; and although I had left the links up because of the mileage manager, I was getting a constant stream of emails about the availability & arrivals/departures info, even though I'd tried to explain the problem everywhere the V-Tool was mentioned on the site. It also still generated regular posts in the forum, so it was better to give it a decent burial than repeat the posts ;)

If I can get a chance to extract the mileage manager from the V-Tool, I may well release that as a standalone piece of software, but there are quite a few projects ahead of that in the queue at the moment.

I joined the forum because I heard of the V-tool and how helpful it was - I am disapointed that it is not available as I only joined yesterday

Geoff

Until such time where any revision can be made to the V-Tool, i suggest you check out the Expert Flyer section of the website, you can perform a limited number of free queries there which will give you the same information as the V-Tool

I hope that goes some way to helping your travel queries?

Thanks,
Sarah

As Sarah has said you do have some free attempts with Expert Flyer which I , and many others, have subcribed to as this gives you so much more information than the V-Tool did.

I would like to make a suggestion (and not a criticism) that perhaps if there is any remaining details informing non-members that they will get the V-Tool with membership that these be revised.

Having said that the V-Flyer membership is VERY good value for money and don't forget that you will still receive your luggage tags, membership card and V-Flyer pin.
