God I wish I hadn't started to read this thread. Desperately trying to do Atkins so I can get into my 'slim' clothes for our hol next month - so no chocolate and even worse no caffeine for me. I'm going to be thinking about this all day now.
I did Atkins 4 years ago and lost 4 stone - and now I eat a fairly low carb diet and it works for me - I did drink coffee thru the diet and it had no detrimental effect - some say that caffeine slows down the weight loss - but I didnt find that. As with any diet I think you find what works for you and then do it!! Its always the will power whatever path you take - even now 4 years on I rarely eat chocolate or have puddings even tho I love them - I eat fruit and plenty of veg and unlime the misconception of Atkins diest I dont have full english breakfast every day or eat a lot of fat - today for example I had a couple of slices of roast chocken and a piece of cheese for brekkie!!
