The reason I ask is that my husband is very tall, not fat or anything, but very long legs and even PE seats are not that big for him. If we could secure the exit seats then life would be so much easier for him. We have been flying since the time when PE didn't exist and the only way to get seats to fit him (and my 6' 6" sons) was to get to the airport 3-4 hours before the flights and throw ourselves ( and £60 each) at the mercy of the check-in crew. I don't mind getting to check-in early and we're staying in a hotel overnight to make sure we are there early, but I was a bit concerned about paying yet another £50. I am re-assured that I was given wrong info and hope that the exit seats are still available when we get there. Thank you all for your help.

P.S. Incidentally, last time we flew Virgin from Manchester we were upgraded to Club (as it was then) which was very nice and a very nice check-in lady requested bulk-head seats for our return journey when she saw hubby's height. However, this was a wrong move as Hubby could hardly move his feet/legs at all due to the wall in front of the seats. You live & learn.
