I was recently in the BA terraces lounge in NRT. This lounge is a joke. i didnt get a seat and the internet connection was shocking. However because i was not actually travelling BA that day i went into the CX lounge after the BA flight had left. This lounge, even though it is a little dull, is massive and the internet was brilliant. I know that CX have more flights a day from NRT but i think that BA would be smart to do a shared lounge with CX through there OW alliance. This would surely cut costs. Also there was an AA lounge also next door. There were three OW lounges beside each other. This is really not practical.

So my question is, why dont the three airlines just share lounges? Yes i can see how BA would like to be able to say they have a lounge there but i believe a shared lounge would be a good way to save money and make the pax happier

The Star lounge at Zurich is meant to be good I think[:?] To answer your question, who knows? Airline management isn't reknowned for its logical thinking;)

BTW, do you get lounge access travelling Club Europe with BA?

Yes, although there are few exceptions at European outstations where you need to be BA Silver/Gold to get entry. Flying in CE won't help in these situations. LIS is one that springs to mind.

I've used it. It's run by Lufthansa, but the decor is quite nice, not standard LH "Germanic" lounge design. Much nicer lighting, etc. Drinks and snacks provided are okay.

Of course, now Swiss is in Star, I wonder if this lounge is on borrowed time, as it's now miles away from most of the airlines it actually serves.

Interestingly, I had a long connection between two Swiss flights, before they joined Star, but the flight was booked through LH and ticketed on LH stock. The LH agent at the Star lounge was quite happy for me (UA Premier Exec) to stay there! ;)

I thought that was against FAA and CAA regulations, and that you could be denied boarding for trying to fly while sober. But I may be wrong....

There has to be a first time for everything:Dhere is the NRT terrace lounge in all it's glory. Not crowded yet as we were one of the first through the horrendous passport control, like VS the BA check-in only opens 2.5 hours before the flight(knew I had a picture somewhere).
