A quick question-

I booked some reward travel in February, to fly in October. I've got a locator number, and due to circumstances beyond my control the schedule has changed. Virgin have been very helpful here, and the schedule has been 'stable' for about a month now

I can't see the booking on the website, and Flying Club say that's because it hasn't been ticketed yet (and I haven't received an e-ticket). They say it's in the queue for ticketing, but nothing seems to ever happen

Isn't 'ticketing' just someone pressing a button on their computer? - or is there more to it than that?

Any speculation about what's going on? - Should I be worried?

In theory yes, that is what ticketing is - putting a ticket number in a booking. However they can sit on a queue for sometime.

I would push for it to be ticketed if I were you - although once ticketed - thats when restrictions apply if applicable so you need to ensure you are ready to commit before you have the ticket issued.

Hi Peter

I agree with Barnstaple, I often book the VA rewards on line and get an instant e ticket back within a matter of minutes if not hours.

Give flying club a call and ask for your e-ticket to be issued - thats really odd IMHO.

Hope it all gets sorted out.

I've had this problem before, after altering a reward reservation. In fact, on one of the two occasions, I couldn't get the ticket reissued until I reached the airport and when to the ticket desk.

The reason I couldn't book it on line is that it's with (mainly) with Singapore Airlines. I can see the whole itenary on their computer, marked as 'not ticketed'. It's made more complicated because of the Singapore airlines schedule change means now it's a 'part Virgin, part Singapore' routing. I'm beginning to think it may be held up by Virgin & Singapore arguing how to divide my spent miles between themselves...

Sounds like you are very much piggy in the middle, which seems totally unacceptable.

Once when I had this problem, when I pushed it with FC the ticket suddenly was released.... I'd go back to FC and push it a bit....

Good luck!

Happiness achieved !

Thanks all who replied - Ticket is now issued (although it took two wrong etickets before the right eticket appeared)

I can also see that the booking is ticketed on the Singapore website (hooray!) but the Virgin site still refuses to acknowledge it

But with an eTicket in my hand, and the Singapore computer happy, I'm happy :)-
