Well done to BA for not upgrading Boris on the way out. I bet he gets upgraded on the way back though now it's been in the press.

Funnily, it's been VS who have been supporting all the athletes over the past few years - flying all of TeamGB in Upper whenever space was available. Even up until July, the team were being flown to China/NZ/anywhere, for training trips, with VS.
Then BA come along at the last minute, flying most of them in economy (yes, economy) there and back for the actual games, and still manage to get the shining halo... [n]
It's all B.S.

MS,
I'm not referring to the 'one off' flight that they returned on today.
I'm talking about the 20+ flights that all the athletes used to get out there (they don't all travel out there together) where they were planted in economy seating. The tickets were non-upgradable, no miles allowed to be used even, no nothing. This was on flights where there WERE seats available in W, J & F.
VS, on the other hand, have been ferrying them left right and center for years now with hardly any of the fanfare that BA managed to get out of this.
And yes, I DO know a thing or two about this [;)]

Well, the ultimate irony for me (as pointed out by Darren, earlier) is that BA decided to become THE most sport-UNfriendly airline in the world late last year when they put into practice the rules on sporting equipment.
It's not that they charge for carrying sporting goods - they simply WON'T carry certain sporting goods, at all.
So, our olympic windsurfers have just landed back with an airline that will never ever allow them to take their kit with them in the hold (including today, although granted, it's all containered home in this particular case). So whenever they want to go anywhere to train, BA is NEVER an option.
Nice one BA... [ii]

It was announced awhile back that BA and VS would be working together to promote the 2012 games.

Will,
Not talking about the out and back olympic trip itself (as I previously clarified). I'm on about the training flights over the past few years, right up until July. The list of athletes not using BA is a lot longer than those that were... (or COULD, even, given their equipment rules!)

If VS have been flying so many athletes around the world (with all their equipment) for so many years then who is to blame if nobody knows ? surely that rests squarely with VS PR ?
