If I hold a VS ticket to fly on VS metal and I was denied boarding due to overbooking at check-in. I then received my select voucher either having a free return flight or 40,000 miles as compensation. VS then booked me on another non-partnered airline to get me to my original destination, can I still claim my miles and tier points since my original ticket was with VS?
AFAIK, generally, no. Tier points are credited for flights actually flown and if you are re-booked on another airline you forgo the points. You could speak to Flying Club to see if they are willing to do anything for you in this case, particularly if you needed the tier points, though if you have already had the 40'000 miles from the Select voucher I suspect that will be deemed your compensation.
Thanks,
Sarah
