Read report in today's Times that in response to the publication of a report into the crash of Air France flight 447, airlines will face calls tomorrow to ground their A330 and A340 fleets. Just wondering how Virgin have responded in the past to similar calls and what impact this had on schedules. Flying to Sydney in a couple of weeks so somewhat interested!

Here is the article in question. It's not clear to me who will be doing the 'calling' - the lawyers or the NTSB - , and would it necessarily mean the grounding of an entire fleet or a program of urgent mods?

VS may have in part already answered the question.

Wouldn't you think, that if investigators had already reached such a conclusion, action would be taken now rather than waiting for a piece of paper to come out?

Sorry, but that just sounds like scaremongering to me. How many Airbus aircraft are there actually in use today? How many of these fly from A to B every single day without any problems what so ever?

Well there's one out of action! We are currently residents of the Dulles Marriot along with 300 other PAX due to the grounding last night of the VS22. I just hope that they are able to fly us all home today.
