There have been elements within the FAA that have been trying to get rid of carry-on luggage for years.
They are milking this opportunity for all its worth!
I don't expect we will see any return to the large bags often found in the US.
The biggest problem would seem to come from clothing however.
It is going to be fun seeing how they start to define that and the 'medical devices'.
