a condescending, humorless creature
condescending, sure, humorless, I don't think so, but then again, thinking about it, yeah I guess in certain circumstances yes, but not by choice.

I have never personally met you but to me you seem a top bloke with a wicked sense of humour for which I admire greatly.

Hang On GJ.
Was any drink involved during that last post[}:)]
I ask the same question to Dave, was any drink involved before you locked the thread, honestly now.
I have been so guilty in the past of posting comments with more than the legal limit inside me.
Iain
Nope no drinks for me, just some dayquil for this darn flu bug I have.

Hang on GJ used a word and his thread was locked yet the OP in the thread Darren linked us to usxed the same word and the thread was not locked or edited? AND that thread was in the open part of the site.
Could we have an explanation on why one was ok and one wasn't?
Sure, I was at work when this thread got started, as it is I explained why I locked the poll, I logged on when I got home from work, saw this debate going on and would much prefer to hash out the topic in public rather than dealing with it via PM's, IM's or emails.
Yes there is a double standard, but this is still a site where things can be debated.

I would now expect ALL posts knocking Hull and other towns to be locked and members reprimanded/banned; especially those in the open forum and esp in TR's [:?][:w]
XxXx
Actually, it will be interesting to see if GJ logs on and shares the reprimand that I gave him.
Just to point out, in the past, due to complaints by members, TR's have been locked and the author has been asked to change the wording because of complaints from other members in regards to towns and it's citizens being mentioned in what they considered to be an unflattering way.
Let the debate continue.
