As it was a Saturday morning trip to Logan, there was little traffic and the minubus that picked the seven of us up from our hotel soon had us at the airport.
I'd checked in online the day before, so was at the bag drop quickly, and had to pay $30 as I was checking in two bags.
And then to my bug bear of traveling within the USA... Security.... at first it started well. There was quite a queue and as we neared the front where they check your ID, one of my colleagues realised he couldn't find his boarding card which he'd had in his hand only moments before. After much searching of pockets and bags, a TSA agent came over to help and he wandered back up the queue and found it on the floor. He had a chat with us, asked where I was from, generally a nice guy. Hooray, thought I - a friendly agent! However - the agents manning the x-ray machines were their usual rude and brusque selves. Would it really be too much to say 'please' or 'thank you' once in a while? (Personally - as I've got another four internal flights to do on this trip I need to learn how to deal with it, otherwise I'll explode at their lack of manners)
Anyway - I was selected to go through a body scanner, and then a quick pat down and we were through.
We chose to sit overlooking the runway behind the Starbucks and have a coffee before heading to the gate. It's quite a good terminal this (terminal C I think) for eating places and natural light - makes a difference.
Boarding was on time and quick, and we were soon all on board and on our way.
Seat pitch is excellent on Jet Blue, and as you can wear headphones for the entire flight and the seat back TV is always on, I was soon plugged in watching some funny 'real life' documentary about tow truck people who chase car crashes. got to love American TV!
Soft drinks orders were taken once we were in the air, and soon followed by complimentary snacks - cookies, crisps etc.
Arrived in Chicago, we were quickly on the stand and by the time we'd walked to the luggage carousel the bags were out.
We had an amusing moment as the Chicago office had organised our 'limo' at this end - and rather than a mini bus which had taken us seven blokes, luggage, tool boxes etc perfectly at the Boston end - a real stretched limo with blacked out windows turned up. trying to cram all of us and our luggage in was quite a performance in it's own right.
so from Boston hotel door to Chicago hotel door was a bit less than six hours - not bad at all.
And yet again, another good fight from jetblue.

Never used jetblue because i always assumed they were like easyjet, so i have used all the other usual internal carriers and mostly been dissapointed with the service i recieved apart from co.
Thanks for your TR i probably should give them a go next time.

cheers

Couldn't be much further from easyjet is they tried!

Allocated seating that you can pre-chose on line for no extra cost, complimentary soft drinks and snacks, live TV (that's on the whole time) excellent leg room, and really great prices. We've been booking flights with jet blue for this work trip about a week - ten days in advance of taking them and have picked flights up for around $40 - $90 per flight, which is excellent value.
In fact I'm doing four internal flights with jet blue, and one with delta - all the jet blue flights are under $90 the Delta one is $180.

they have a frequent flyer progamme too which is pretty easy to rack points up and use them to get discounts or cheaper flights each time you book. Not too sure if they're part of another programme or not, as work are taking the internal flights points and using them to keep the costs of the travel down.

My one time using JetBlue caused me to miss the evening performance of Wicked. They had forgotten to load a food cart, and they were not allowed to fly with an empty space where it should have been. They refused one from another airline so we had a 4 hour delay. If it was so important we wondered how the flight left its last destination without anyone noticing.

Though to be fair, that sort of annoying thing can happen to any airline.

But starting from an equal base, for short hops round the USA, I would chose Jetblue.

Nice to hear you had a good flight. When I was at Uni in Rochester NY, I used to fly back and forth to JFK all the time and never had a bad flight with them. Even got upgraded to the even more leg room seat for free on a few occasions.

Any they will even deliver food to you at your seat by the gate! (you pay a $1 or $2 for the convenience)

But that $2 more means you get the blue crisps!! :D

If you're connecting to or from your Virgin flight with your jetblue flight you can easily walk from one terminal to the the other. From T4 (virgin) head to the right hand exit in arrivals, follow the path straight ahead of you, past the 'pet park' and smoking area. The path bends gently off to the right, just keep following and in a little about 5 minutes you're there.

If you are interested there is a programme about the refurbishment of the jet blue terminal at JFK that gets regular showings on Quest (channel 38 on freeview)
