Online check in is open but I get a message saying olci is not available to us and must check in airport - why? Late upgrade to pe , ticket on departure? Can someone give me a clue?

It could be one of several reasons. Have you entered your names correctly exactly as it is on the ticket? Perhaps one of your name or that of someone travelling with you is the same as someone on a "watch" list. Or the site might just be busy.

Give it another try. Sometimes that works

As HL says could be once of several reasons.

You could always give customer services a ring.

The same thing happened to us recently after changing flights - unless you've had an email with a new e-ticket, it probably hasn't worked through the ticketing queue. We had to get the ticket sorted out at the airport before we could check in. Our seat allocations were all OK though.

Might be worth allowing a bit extra time at the airport if you can't get it sorted beforehand.

It happened to me today, I tried again 5 minutes later and was fine. Moral: VS's Web site is pants, so keep trying but if you do continually get the message it's probably due to one of the reasons above.

So riddle not quite solved - apparently our locator is not set correctly but a little trip to t3 and speaking to the staff we have checked in and secured 18 k and h with the extra leg room - result! Here is to a great flight.
