Another "oh dear", that was a painful thread to read! It all seems to tie together, certainly the character.

And I'm amazed that it's provoked a response on TA from HL and slinky :0 :0 .
I did laugh at the OP though. Bordering on delusional :) :) .

Indeed !!

It's like a painting - each time I look at it I see something additional such as

They duly arrived and I took one bite of the so-called “coffee cupcake”, and realised it was in fact the chocolate éclair.

Well I don't know about anyone else but my mother told me to always look what I was putting into my mouth before eating anything.

How can anyone confused a cupcake with an eclair?

We obviously won't see her as a contestant on Great British Bake off will we? Mary Berry would soon see her off !

Ingredients for an eclair (well the choux)-
butter, water, flour and eggs

Ingrediends for cup cakes-
butter, sugar, eggs and flour

So what would cause an allergy to an eclair and not the cup cake (or the pasta? or the bread roll? though the sandwiches with the afternoon tea must have sufficed as they did not get a mention)

Surely not the water?

Oh, I was someone else's patsy! ): (Or do I mean pasty)

I was egged on to do it by someone from here who, having read Tink's links was cheesed off with the OP of the topic.

I posted with my best butter-wouldn't-melt-in-my-mouth expression! :w :D

So, so funny.

Have I got the sequence of events correct here? She took a flight in UC to SFO - which resulted in a potentially fatal pastry-related incident...

...then following this flight posted a thread on here which began something along the lines of "I've got the UC bug!"...

?|

Poor cabin crew. Can you imagine the light going on every 30 seconds "I don't like butter", "I'm cold", "where's my ice-cream?", "I'm alergic to pastry!", "where is my spoon?" "I don't like Rasberry", "my TV keeps sticking", "where is my pen?" :0

I seriously think I would probably have just locked her in the toilet for the duration of the flight. Or possibly let her take a walk outide for some "fresh air".

Correct sequence of events but you missed the part about her already knowing the menu as she had been posting on here in the weeks up to her flight.

And that everyone had offered her advice on eating in the CH and ordering special meals which she chose to ignore.

Slinks, that cannot be our Dragon Lady. Our Dragon Lady would surely NEVER say "myriad of". ): ):

I assume there was a little bit of elapsed time between complaining about the cold cabin - and asking for her ice cream... :?

I flew UC last week from LGW and back 2 days, and to comment on some of the comments:

- Sure, no pen, its not exactly the best pen in the world.

- Yes, there was a bottle of water in the pouch behind the seat, there and back again.

- Cold cabin. There were blankets both ways.

- The weird ice cream segregation. It is weird, isn't it? I don't really care, but did notice it because others have mentioned the lack of it.

- Been a bit since in PE. Post dinner liqueurs? Was that reference to the tia maria or something they serve? I didn't miss that. I'm sure if I wanted it, I could ask and get one.

- No post dinner tea and coffee service? There was the offer on the way over, and I asked on way back (I expect nightflights don't typically offer by default due to assuming you will sleep).

- No spoon provided? With what? A general spoon? I got one whenever I got food/coffee.

- No napkin or cutlery with afternoon tea service. I got them.

- I got bread. He might have hit on a little process thing about not getting bread when you give butter back.

- Piping hot food? From an airline?

- And finally the big complaint must be a joke. Cupcake seems to be an american term and I'm not even sure what it covers. So there was confusion there. If allergic (like, to say... pastry???) care might be taken to, say notice.

In summary, largely not my experience.

True, words like 'Upper Class' 'mfu' 'champagne' 'luxury shopping' 'shoes' et al might feature, but not that!

The original post on TA has now been removed and the thread locked. Looks like she didn't get any sympathy from the TA readers.

I haven't done a UC day flight before, so am deeply saddened to learn that no ice cream is provided. Perhaps I will have to downgrade myself to any empty seating in Econ or PE for that section of the service.

But Miss G, they could be eclairs masquerading as cupcakes or, even worse, cherry tomatoes in gravy doing the masquerade. :0

Which confuses me even more as ice cream is offered on UC day flights - it's been on every flight I've done this summer.

It was dished out to the PE section and not mentioned to the UC in my flight last week...

I didn't look closely, but it could have been Haagen Das, a small tub...

(Mainly because the PE passengers kept sneaking into the UC bogs, and got a swatch every so often... Are the toilets in UC on the LGW flights supposed to be exclusive?)
