Thanks for the report.
We have used Southwest a couple of times, and my parents did just last week, we all agree that they are really good value. Yes, they are low cost, but you get what you pay for, and the 2 free checked bags help make them very attractive when doing internals.

Thank you for the TR.

Perhaps I am being a bit neurotic, but stuff like the below headline make me a bit cautious of Southwest.

Always planning a trip somewhere!
Nice TR - useful to get positive feedback for internal US carriers as I only occasionally use them and you can hear some horror stories in the press!
The only way is left....since I found V-Flyer

I've flown Southwest before and found them to be a great airline.
Thanks for the TR!
They're not so good if you're of the larger persuasion....

Every airline get's these, I love WN and can only say good things about them.
Yes I had read the reports on the cracks in the fuselage it happend only a Few weeks after I had booked that flight so was a little worried but thought to myself I have flown many time over the years so now is not the time to start worrying about flying lol.
I have flown Southwest several times and as many people note here, they are a good value low cost airline. I use them much less now that Virgin America covers some of the same routes, particularly on the west coast. I find VX gives a much better service and comparable prices. (They always seem to have some sort of sale or offer going on).
Flew with them a few weeks ago (LA - Phoenix) and it was fine. It all seemed very friendly and great for a short hop, plus, as a couple of people here pointed out, they're one of the few budget lines to include some bags in their cost.

The other notable one being jetBlue who don't charge for the first checked bag. I flew one of their more unusual routes; Martha's Vineyard to JFK earlier this month and I chose them over Delta largely because DL wanted to charge me $25 per bag.
It must be one of their shortest routes. IIRC we were in the air for 37 minutes.
