I renewed my Gold membership at the end of January 2012 and have not yet received a renewal pack. I've called Virgin Atlantic Flying Club several times and had the following answers;
- we don't send out renewal packs
- it was sent in early January
- it will be with you three weeks after renewal date

Today's call handler told me that they don't re-issue membership cards and not to worry abouth the expiry date! When I asked about my membership renewal pack, the Heathrow and Gatwick Express vouchers and so-on, I was told this pack had now been scrapped and that all that was now sent out was a gold membership card and an envelope (he had no idea what was in the envelope). Apparently this was a new policy introduced in December. My new membership card has now been ordered.

Has anyone else had any problems recently or heard anything about this new policy? I've heard so many different reasons from the call handlers that I don't know what to expect. Will write to Virgin too but this seems like another blow to their regular flyers.

What about the Heathrow and Gatwick Express vouchers? Are they still included?

I renewed at the end of January also but have received nothing. This happened before and it was a couple of months before I received my pack. To be honest the only important thing is the card if I choose to fly in a lower cabin although this evening my luggage tag fell off having been cracked in transit and I wouldn't mind another one, especially as it will be my last one

My mother unexpectedly reached FC Au at the beginning of January quite unexpectedly, once the TP's from our latest trip hit her account the new membership pack arrived within around 7 days, and yes those train ticket vouchers were still part of the pack 5 weeks or so ago......

From what Nessy says, I would guess that no renewal packs are being sent out right now and only new AU card holders are receiving packs. I guess it's just a bit more of the cost cutting but methinks renewal packs are a small price to pay for people who've just in another year spent thousands of £££ on your company

I renewed (for the last time) at the end of December and I received my pack yesterday

Yes, card (no change), tags and vouchers. You now have to read through the blurb to find the entry to the prize draw to stay on Necker Island

So having posted this an hour ago, I'm pleased to say that my pack arrived about 10 minutes ago :D It came complete with GEX and HEX vouchers and the luggage tags as per usual

Given the responses the OP had from Flying Club, especially about the one not sending renewal packs, wouldn't you think that they'd get it right. v( The one that said that they would be sent out 3 weeks after renewal date seems to be the most accurate

If you give the FC Gold line a call they will be able to order your new Gold tags - they tend to be sent out on a monthly basis (as far as I am aware).
