Hi All
I came back overnight to Gatwick on the VS44 from Las Vegas. I got my PE favourite bubble seat, 80K, right at the back.
Since I was coming back from a convention (more than 100,000 delegates) it wasn't surprising that I found many friends in common with my seatmate in 80H
The crew were serving pre takeoff fiz, when the CSM arrives, greets me by name, welcomes be back, and says that since she know I prefer Champagne, here's one from Upper Class, in the new 'Coupe' glass. Well, this impressed the hell out of my seatmate!!!!
Then before the food service started, since I was in the last row, I'd normally get whatever's left. But no, the CSM asked me what I'd like, and then she 'put one by' in the ovens for me. So when service got to the row in front of me. they were telling people 'but there's only chicken left..' then served my reserved beef dish
I think the lesson here is that all of the above is fairly easy for an airline to do, but most don't. But the upside is that when you do, then the passenger can feel like it's his best day ever
Hopefully Virgin will keep reminding themselves of this
